God is God of chastisements, as a result, in your marriage he must in one way or the other chastise you. In order to prove you and teach you that it’s not by your power or might you will succeed in marriage. In Deut. 8:2-3, He humbled the people of Israel with hunger for them to know that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from God’s mouth, man shall live in.

And in Prov. 3:12, Says that For whom the Lord love He correct, even as a father the son in whom he delighted. Which simply means if you are not chastised by Him, He is not with you. And when God is not with you your entire life and family are in danger.
In 1Cor. 10:13, Assured you that as He is chastising you He will make a way of escape for you.
1, He chastised Hannah and shut her womb not to conceive nor give birth. And allowed Peninnah to abused and provoked her. But Hannah never give up nor looked back nor give up. Rather she continued in prayer and God answered her and gave her the best child, prophet Samuel, 1 Sam. chapters 1-3.
2, He chastised Jacob at his old age and received message of the death of Joseph by his sons. And He gave him power of endurance to endure it. Which later God used him to preserve their lives in Egypt, Gen. 37:31-35.
You cannot be a true child of God without chastisement
3, God chastised Jacob for hating Leah his first wife and loved Rachel. He shuts Rachel’s womb which made her never give birth of any child, rather her maid, Gen. 30:1-8.
4, God chastised Abraham and his wife barren until theirr old age. He and his wife never gave up but continued in prayer until He gave them Isaac, Gen .21:1-6.
5, He chastised Zachariah and his wife, but they never gave up until He gave them John the Baptist, the best child the forerunner of Jesus, Lk .1:11-20.
6, God chastised Solomon with many women and failed, married many of them which brought divisions in the kingdom of Israel. 1Kgs. 11
7, God chastised Jesus, Mt. 4: 1-10.
After Jesus had prayed and fasted, was thinking how to utilize the power God has given. First thought was to turn the power into business, but he was underlining his thinking with the book of Law, the word of God. That was the reason when Satan came to him and confirmed his sonship. He said, as a son of God, if you really be the son of God, turn these stones to bread. Jesus quickly quoted the Law that Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes out from the mouth of God.
Second thought Jesus was thinking to commit suicide and die after he had seen the suffering awaiting for him, but he was underlining his thinking with the book of Law. That was the reason when Satan came to him and said, even though you commit suicide you shall not die, because God had given his angels charge over you, to hold you, even you wouldn’t strike your legs on the stones. And Jesus also quickly quoted the Law of God to him, that you shall not tempt the Lord your God.
The third thought, Jesus was thinking also to convert the power in him to take over the world, he was also thinking with the word of God, underlining it. That was the reason when Satan came to him and said that the world belonged to him. And as you are thinking to take over it. Only bow down for him and worship him, he will hand over it to you. The words of Satan provoked Jesus, and he shouted at him, called him by his name, Satan get behind me. And quoted scripture it’s written only God you shall serve and worshipped.
When Jesus conquered Satan God sent His Angels to be with him.
8, God chastised Job by the permission given to Satan to tried him. He never gave up rather continued in prayer. Job 2:9-10.
Every chastisement of God carry in it promotion
9, God chastised Joseph the husband of virgin Mary. Her pregnancy without her husband knowledge was God’s chastisement. And he didn’t give up but continued in prayer and God sent his angel to him in dream.,
God will not promote you without chastisement, never.
If God is with you and working with you, He must chastise you in order to prove worthy
The major issue today is that Christians cannot differentiate the chastisement of God and satanic attacks in their various lives. You see Satan cannot attack you without the permission of God. So whatever you see happen to you is of God, if not it can’t come. You can know God’s chastisement whenever you are prayerful, if not you wouldn’t know. See chapters 1and2 of Job.
Whenever God is chastising you, thank Him because He wants to bless you and your spouse.
